The 2016 Caribbean Carnival Design Workshop — free sessions of culture, craftsmanship, creativity and wonder — starts Saturday in Brooklyn, presented by the West Indian American Day Carnival Association, which produces New York’s annual Caribbean carnival.
Participants — ages 6 and up — will learn how construct their own costume with the help of carnival veterans at the workshops. Sessions are held Saturdays through June 25, from 2 to 3 p.m. There is no class on May 28.
