The Peabody Essex Museum (PEM) continues its monthly after-hours party series with PEM/PM: Agridulce on Thursday, January 21, from 6 to 9 pm.

Warm your spirit with an evening celebrating our new exhibition Alchemy of the Soul: Maria Magdalena Campos-Pons. Through large-scale blown glass sculptures, paintings, photographs and evocative soundscapes, the artist draws on the structural forms found in the abandoned sugar mills and rum factories of Cuba, her childhood island home.

Come watch a special performance piece by the artist, enjoy different types of rum and special cocktails as well as Cuban-inspired small plates. Get an in-depth look behind the sugar and rum industry and Salem’s role in the trade process.
