The 16th Annual José Martí Breakfast—“Celebrating José Martí as a Playwright”—will take place January 28, 2016, 8:15-10:15am at Florida International University, Biscayne Bay Campus (WUC Ballrooms, 3000 NE 151st Street, North Miami) Florida.

Description: For the past fifteen years, on January 28th, FIU’s Biscayne Bay Campus has hosted a breakfast celebrating the birthday of the great Cuban writer and patriot José Martí. This year, the breakfast will take a renewed look at José Martí, through the performances and paintings of internationally recognized artists direct from Cuba:

• Actor Fernando Hechavarría
• Prima Ballerina Irene Rodríguez
• Actress Alicia Hechavarría Vidal
• Painter Yosvany Martínez

This presentation, specifically created by the artists for this event, brings our tribute to Martí to an extraordinary level.
