The Jaipur Literature Festival 2016 will be held January 21 to 25, 2016. Marlon James—this year’s Man Booker Prize winner—will join Ruskin Bond, Sudhir Kakar, Stephen Fry, Uday Prakash, Colm Toibin, Margaret Atwood, Thomas Piketty, and Bant Singh, among others, at the Diggi Palace in Jaipur, India.
An evening of dialogue, discussion and music marked the countdown to the world’s largest free literary gathering, the Zee Jaipur Literature Festival 2016 in the Capital recently. The fest co-directors William Dalrymple and Namita Gokhale shared with the audience the themes of discussions and participating authors at the annual event to be held from January 21 to 25.
[. . .] The festival will touch upon a multitude of ideas and themes including that of migration in the chronicles of exile besides focusing on the dynamics of the rapidly changing world with panels and sessions through “Mera Gaon Mera Desh”, “Parivaar, Parampara aur Parivartan”, among others. Themes like environment, conflict and the Middle East, oral traditions and poetry, among others will also be explored.
