Terra zombi. El fenómeno transnacional de los muertos vivientes [Terra zombi: The Transnational Phenomenon of the Living Dead] edited by Rosana Díaz Zambrana, has just been published by Editorial Isla Negra (Río Piedras, Puerto Rico).
Description: This anthology gathers 16 original essays that deal with different aspects of the zombie phenomenon in Latin America, Spain, and its connections with the United States. The compilation examines the symptomatic recurrence of the living dead through film, literature, and other cultural practices. Using a variety of theoretical approaches, the authors analyze the representations and appropriations of the zombie metaphor in order to understand and situate the new paradigms surrounding the corrupted political bodies, the new global dynamics, and the always evolving collective anxieties.
