Haiti Cultural Exchange (HCX) invites everyone to an evening of storytelling and music at the “Krik? Krak! Storytelling and Songs” event. This Saturday, July 25, 2015, from 4:00 to 6:00pm, at FiveMyles Gallery, HCX presents an evening of traditional storytelling passed down from generation to generation, featuring Riva Nyri Précil and special guest Wooly Saint Louis Jean.
The program will feature returning artist Riva Nyri Précil and an exclusive listening party of Perle de Culture, her first album dedicated to Haiti. In her sultry, soulful creole voice, Riva shares her own interpretations of Haiti’s Vodoun songs “honoring the wide array of spirits brought over from Africa.”
The FiveMyles Gallery is located at 558 St. Johns Place, Brooklyn, New York. Admission is free and open to the public.
