L’oeil du lézard, Caribbean Contemporary Art: Gilles Elie-dit-Cosaque

As part of their aim to promote Caribbean art at an international level, Aica Caraïbe du Sud (the International Association of Art Critics) has been producing a series of videos on regional artists. This month, Aica shares a fascinating video on Martinican artist Gilles Elie-dit-Cosaque and his series, Lambeaux.

Description: For a more significant contribution to the promotion of Caribbean art internationally, Aica Southern Caribbean has opted for the creation of a series of short videos online in French, English and Spanish. This series, depending on the partners’ agreement, aims at introducing contemporary Caribbean visual artists from the entire archipelago. Initiated by Dominique Brebion, from Martinique, the series will focus first on some artists from Martinique.

This video presents the Lambeaux series created by Gilles Elie-dit-Cosaque. Gilles Elie-dit-Cosaque was in charge of the credits; Vianney Sotes photographed and edited the pictures; Dominique Brebion wrote the text; and the reader is Fred Guilbaud.
