The Cuban Creole Choir of Camagüey –known in Cuba as Desandann- will perform at the Int’l Festival “The Influence of Yesterday’s Music in Today’s Music” in Haiti.

Apart from their performances, these musicians – all of them children and grandchildren of Haitian immigrants – will hold theoretical workshops and share their art with students and Cuban cooperation workers who are providing services in this neighboring country.

Folklore ensembles from Martinique, St. Lucia, Bahamas and from Haitian communities in the United States will also attend this festival.

The Cuban Creole Choir (Desandann) is made up of Haitian descendants and is the only group in Cuba that cultivates the music of the neighboring Caribbean country since it was founded 20-plus years ago.
