Theater: Karl O’Brian Williams’ “The Black That I Am”

“The Black That I Am” is a Braata Theatre Workshop production that will open at the Roy Arias Stage II Theater in Manhattan, starting March 8, 2015. RA Stage II is located at the Times Square Arts Center at 300 West 43rd Street (corner of 8th Avenue).

“The Black That I Am” – starring Alana Barrett-Adkins, Christopher Bazemore, Jovaun Black, Andrew Clarke, Shykia Fields, Shayne Powell, and Ilana Warner – is a dramatic production by Jamaican actor and playwright Karl O’Brian Williams. It centers on black Caribbean immigrants and their exploration of gender, sexuality, nationalism and other issues.
