The highly acclaimed musical “In the Heights” will be at the Máximo Avilés Blonda Fine Arts Auditorium in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, on December 5-7, 2014, after two weekends with seven successful shows and getting excellent reviews.
The musical, which portrays Dominicans in the United States, is directed by Waddys Jáquez, with production and musical direction by Amaury Sanchez and choreography by Isadora Bruno. It brings together the best of Dominican talent.
Javier Grullón, Laura Lebrón, Héctor Aníbal, Diana Pou, Sonia Alfonso, Checho Lora, Dolly García, Diomari la Mala, Karla Fatule, Jj Sánchez, Alejandro Moscoso, and Ian Castillo recreate the story written by Puerto Rican [composer, rapper, lyricist, and actor] Lin-Manuel Miranda, who changed the course of successions of Broadway musicals by mixing salsa, hip hop and other rhythms.
