Our warmest congratulations to Margarita Engle, who has been named winner of the 2014 PEN Center USA Literary Award for Young Adult/Children’s Literature for her 2013 book The Lightning Dreamer, Cuba’s Greatest Abolitionist. This book tells the story of Cuba’s Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda.
