Around the Corner: “Symposium on Cultural Policies and Social Dialogues” (CLACSO)


The Symposium of Cultural Policies and Social Dialogues [Simposio de Políticas Culturales y Diálogo Social] will take place on June 12, 2014, at the Tapia Theater in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Symposium is part of a the 3rd international seminar by RedEPC (CLACSO-Consejo Latinoamericano de Ciencias Sociales) and it is free and open to public.

Not to be missed is pioneering artist and Rubberband partner María de Mater O’Neill, who will be joining Michy Marxuach and others at 3:30pm on a panel on Cultural Entrepreneurship and Innovation. She will speak about her resilience model RTRP and how it informs Rubberband’s business strategies in a volatile economic environment in a peripheral context where there is a lack of design discourse and culture.

Other leading speakers from Puerto Rico’s cultural stage include Lilliana Ramos Collado, Noelia Quintero, Alexis Massol, Cecille Blondet, Ricardo Cobián, among others. There will also be representation from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru.
