Call for Papers: “La Avellaneda y Gastón Baquero, Un puente perdurable entre Cuba y España”

Ediciones La gota de agua is pleased to announce the forthcoming international congress: “Peregrinar sin ausentarse: La Avellaneda y Gastón Baquero, Un puente perdurable entre Cuba y España” [Pilgrimage without Departure: Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda and Gastón Baquero, a lasting bridge between Cuba and Spain]. The conference, which is co-sponsored by the Cuban Research Institute at Florida International University and Centro Cultural Español, will take place June 5-7, 2014, in Miami, Florida. The deadline is May 15, 2014.

“Peregrinar sin ausentarse: La Avellaneda y Gastón Baquero, Un puente perdurable entre Cuba y España” will take place at two different venues. On June 5, the congress events will take place from 9:30am to 8:00pm at the Graham Center (Panther Suite) – Modesto A. Maidique Campus (located at 11200 SW 8th Street, Miami, Florida). On June 6-7, events will take place from 9:30am to 8:00pm at the Centro Cultural Español (located at 1490 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami, Florida).

Interested parties may submit an abstract or session proposal until May 15, 2014. (The deadline is firm.) A group of accredited specialists will decide acceptance of submitted abstracts and proposals. If accepted, participants will be duly notified by email, so please include your email address.

The registration fee is $70.00, which must be sent by check by April 30, 2014, to Ediciones La gota de agua. Checks and inquiries should be sent to:
