According to the Argentine news agency Télam, the President Cristina Fernández arrived at Havana’s José Martí International Airport Friday night. She arrived with Foreign Minister Héctor Timerman and Secretary of Public Information Alfredo Scoccimarro. She joins government leaders from 33 countries, who will meet January 28-29 in the 2nd Summit of CELAC, founded in Caracas in 2011.
National coordinators are working this weekend on draft documents to be discussed and foreign ministers will meet Monday, January 27.
According to Humberto Macias, director of the International Press Center, Granma he 2nd Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) will be reported from Havana by 694 journalists representing 196 media outlets from 29 countries.
The press center was inaugurated on Friday at Havana’s Pabexpo exhibition center where the meeting of Latin American and Caribbean heads of state and government will take place. The International Press Center inaugurated for the 2nd CELAC Summit offers all services needed by journalists to provide coverage of the event.
