Author and performer Josefina Baez will give a reading from recent works followed by an open dialogue on her creative process on Wednesday, February 12 at 5 pm at Vassar College. This event is sponsored by the Latin American Studies Program with co-sponsorship from the Office of the Dean of Faculty, Hispanic Studies Department, Drama Department, Poder Latin@ and the ALANA Center. The event will be held in the Sanders Classroom Spitzer Auditorium (room 212) and is free and open to the public.

Baez is a storyteller, performer, writer, theatre director, educator and founder of Ay Ombe Theatre In New York City. At Vassar, she will read fromComrade, Bliss ain’t playing and Levente no. Yolayorkdominicanyork, her most recent works. Baez has been involved with numerous theater festivals and travels extensively conducting Ay Ombe workshops.
