Haiti Cultural Exchange, in collaboration with Fondation Mémoire, presents an evening with the noted author Dany Laferrière. Fondation Mémoire board member Etienne Télémaque will serve as the evening’s Master of Ceremonies. “A Cultural Presentation with author Dany Laferrière” will take place this Friday, January 24, 2014, from 5:00 to 9:00pm at the United Nations Headquarters (via UN visitor’s gate) at 1st Avenue and 47th Street, New York, New York.
Recently elected to seat 2 of the Académie Française, Laferrière has written numerous novels, screenplays, and essays including Éroshima, L’odeur du café, and Le goût des jeunes filles.
Program will be presented in French and English. This evening is organized under the auspices of the Permanent Mission of Haiti to the United Nations in conjunction with the New York Haitian Consulate.
The United States Welcoming Committee for Dany Laferrière includes Max Kénol, Frantz-Antoine Leconte, Régine M. Roumain, Etienne Télémaque, Jean-Robert Noël, Jean Prophète, and Josaphat-Robert Large.
