The Department of Modern Languages and the Cuban Research Institute at Florida International University announce their Conference on “The 200th Anniversary of the Birth of Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda: A Celebration of Nineteenth-Century Cuban Literature,” which takes place on April 4th, 2014, at Florida International University in Miami, Florida.
The keynote speaker at this conference will be Dr. María del Carmen Simón Palmer, Senior Researcher at the Consejo Superior de Investigación Científica in Madrid, Spain.
Papers can be presented in Spanish or English. Each presenter will have a maximum of 20 minutes to present the paper. There will be a $50 conference fee for paper presenters. Prospective participants should send a one-page abstract via email before January 31st, 2014, along with a brief biographical statement, to any of the following persons:
