Simone-de-Eduardo-Lalo-191x300Eduardo Lalo—artist, writer, and professor at the University of Puerto Rico-Río Piedras—is the first Puerto Rican to win the Rómulo Gallegos Prize for Literature for his novel Simone, which has been described as an urban love story with a mystery entwined. He is also the author of En el Burger King de la Calle San Francisco, Libro de textos, Ciudades e islas, Los pies de San Juan (my favorite), and his first novel, La inutilidad (among others). His artwork (including painting, sculpture, installation, photography, and video) has been presented in numerous galleries, museums and public spaces.
