The Institute of Caribbean Studies at the University of Puerto Rico-Río Piedras Campus (UPR-RP) is pleased to announce that the Caribbean Monthly Bulletin (CMB) is available on line (see below).
The CMB was a monthly bulletin about economic and political news of the countries from the Caribbean and was published from 1963 to 1985. Coverage of several countries was frequently carried out by correspondents, with Alister Hughes (Grenada) the one with longest duration. Many numbers included articles of contemporary subjects by renowned academics such as Howard Wiarda, Manuel Maldonado Denis, Jean Crusol, Rene Römer and Steve de Castro.
The CMB is an essential source of information for research about the Caribbean in this pre-Internet period; it includes a Guide of the Caribbean Monthly Bulletin, 1963-1985 [Guía del Caribbean Monthly Bulletin, 1963-1985], prepared by Zoely M. Santiago Rodríguez, a recent graduate of the Graduate School of Science and Technology Information at UPR-RP.
[Many thanks to Dr. Humberto García Muñiz, Director of the Institute of Caribbean Studies for conveying this great news.]
