According to Dominican Today, the Dominican Republic is touted as the Caribbean’s Hub at Expo Logistics Panama 2013, the most important regional event in the transport and logistics field in all its classifications: sea, air, or land in a backdrop of business contacts to get up to speed on the market’s latest trends.
Along with the participation of more than 150 companies and national and international exhibitors, Dominican Republic’s delegation is headed by Export and Investment Center (CEI-RD) director Jean Alain Rodríguez; Airport Department director Arístides Fernández; Dominican Port Authority director Ramón Rivas, and Civil Aviation Board president Luis Rodríguez.
Touting Dominican Republic’s investment opportunities, the head of CEI-RD said “our participation in Expo Logistics Panama reaffirms Dominican Republic’s great future, as a country located in a privileged geographical area, excellent connectivity in growth, domestic market, and free trade agreement.” The official said his country’s competitive incentives and legal security mean comparative advantages within the Panama Canal’s upcoming expansion. “Our Government is preparing the country to become the hub of the Caribbean”.
As the agency responsible for investments, exports and promoting the country-brand, Rodriguez said, the CEI-RD promotes Dominican Republic’s own potential as a logistics center working together with various local and regional organizations. “The country has a stand at Expo logistics Panama 2013 with participating agencies with items and materials that list the advantages of investing in Dominican Republic, its strategic location and conditions internal to promoting brand country: Dominican Republic HUB of the Caribbean,” the CEI-RD said in a statement.
