Caribbean film and TV series now have their own online VOD channel.

The Toronto-based CaribbeanTales Group on Thursday launched CaribbeanTales-TV, a subscription video streaming service, while attending the Toronto International Film Festival.

For a $9.99-per-month subscription fee, the digital platform for Caribbean film and TV content offers a new film added each day for viewing.

The VOD service will draw on 300 titles from the CaribbeanTales Worldwide Distribution catalog, with the first films to include The Story of Lover’s Rock, by director Menelik Shabazz, Geoffrey Dunn‘s Calypso Dreams, Frances-Anne Solomon‘s A Winter Tale and Rain, by Maria Govan.

There’s a 50-50 revenue split between Caribbean Tales-TV and filmmakers.

The online platform was developed by CaribbeanTales Group’s Frances-Anne Solomon and German filmmaker Cay Wesnigk, CEO of Onlinefilm.org.
