The exhibition “Mujeres—Alchemical Connection” began on March 15 and will be available for viewing until April 20, 2013. Through diverse media, five women artists produce meditations on life’s meanings from spiritual, political and deeply personal perspectives. The exhibition is on view at La Galería at Villa Victoria Center for the Arts of Massachusetts, located at 85 West Newton Street, Boston. The artists’ talk will take place at April 12, 6:00-8:00pm.
This group exhibition features artists Beverly Sky (Austria), Debra Olin (U.S.), Elena Calderón Patiño (Costa Rica), Lucía Gómez Delgado (Colombia) and Silvia López Chávez (Dominican Republic); it was curated by Anabel Vázquez Rodríguez (Puerto Rico).
Anabel Vázquez Rodríguez studied painting in the University of Puerto Rico-Río Piedras and photography and film at The Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She is a curator and community arts organizer with an international focus. Focusing and prioritizing on the Latino community and its diaspora, she directs programming and exhibitions at the Villa Victoria Center for the Arts of Massachusetts.
