Agence QMI reports that last Sunday, to mark the occasion of 10th anniversary of  Mémoire d’encrier publishers, author Dany Laférrière presented his latest book, Journal d’un écrivain en pyjama [Diary of a Writer in Pajamas] at the Grande Bibliothèque in Montreal (Quebec), Canada.

The article states that, with this book of over 300 pages, Dany Laférrière offers a voyage to the heart of his own library, dealing with the importance of reading for an author and delivering some tips and book suggestions. The author said, “After L’art presque perdu de ne rien faire [The Almost Lost Art of Doing Nothing; also see New Book: Dany Laferrière’s “L’art presque perdu de ne rien faire”], a novel of ideas, I wanted to reflect on reading and writing, two activities that thrill [enchant] my soul. I wrote this book in my bed, between 3:00am and 7:00am. When the town begins to stir, I go back to sleep.”

This latest book by Laférrière, winner of the Prix Médicis in 2009 for his novel L’énigme du retour [The Enigma of Return; see previous post Dany Laferrière
wins the Prix Mèdicis] will be on the shelves starting today (Tuesday, February 12, 2013).
