Crime drama starring Ben Miller will return for another outing after strong ratings, as radiotimes.com reports.
The comedy crime drama, which has been described by Radio Times’ Alison Graham as a “sunny piece of candyfloss”, will return to our screens next year.
Set on the fictitious Caribbean island of Saint-Marie, the programme follows the story of English Metropolitan Police inspector Richard Poole (Ben Miller) as, with the help of calm and collected sidekick Camille, he tries to solve crimes whilst trying not to get sand on his suit.
Death in Paradise is currently in the middle of its second series, and so far Richard Poole has come up against crimes of passion, murderous mistakes, caribbean smugglers and treasure hunters.
Written by Robert Thorogood, Death in Paradise first aired on BBC1 in October 2011, attracting in excess of 6 million viewers per episode across its first eight part series. A second series began on 8 January on BBC1 attracting more than 8 million viewers.
