Cuban troubadour Gerardo Alfonso will present during the Havana Book Fair an autobiography and an anthology of songs composed by him in 1980-2012.
In remarks to Prensa Latina, the author of the classic “Sabanas Blancas” expressed enthusiasm for this editorial venture, and announced plans to write another three books, including a novel titled “Dreadlock.”
A poetry and The Beatles lover, Alfonso confessed that “Sabanas Blancas”, considered by many as an unbeatable ode to Havana, changed his life because everybody started to “discover” him despite his songs were already sung by renowned artists.
The some 100-page anthology, by Extramuros publishing house, will be launched with a concert by Alfonso at San Carlos de la Cabana Fortress.
Gerardo Alfonso announced that he will present with a recital at Casa de las Americas his autobiography titled “Son los Suenos Todavia” (like a song he dedicated to Che Guevara), edited by a German organization in solidarity with Cuba.
