Leading Puerto Rican Visual Artists Design Posters for Haiti

Aware of the precarious situation in which Haitians still find themselves following the earthquake of January 2010, leading Puerto Rican artists Antonio Martorell, Nelson, Rafael Rivera Rosa, Omar, Luis Diaz, have come together to donate their work—a series of posters related to the events of the Haitian earthquake. These posters will be shown in the exhibition “Art pa’ Haiti” [Art for Haiti] at the Art League in Old San Juan, on Thursday, January 31, 2013, at 6:00pm, to benefit thousands people in Haiti, who are still living in tents and whose lives depend on aid from abroad.

The works will be presented and discussed by Dr. José Antonio Pérez Ruiz, who is an expert and collector of posters. Several of the artists will also be on hand to speak about this important collection. The posters will be available for sale during the event, and all proceeds of the sale will be used for this humanitarian cause.
