The 4th ÎloJazz Festival in Guadeloupe

The ÎloJazz International Festival, also dubbed “Carrefour des musiques créoles,” the crossroads of Creole music, has been in full swing at the Sonis Cultural Center (at the Espace Régional du Raizet), Place de la Victoire in Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe. Taking place from December 10 through 16, 2012, the festival features free concerts, workshops, exhibitions, lectures, and related events.

Renowned jazz musician and master drummer Billy Cobham is the event’s guest of honor. On December 15, there will be series of free concerts—Les Déambulations Musicales—held at various venues around the city. This event features major performers such as the Marie-Galante Jazz Group, Horizon, Projet Quartet, Rasin Gwada, and Michel Mado Senktet, among others.
