Facebook is all abuzz with concern about escalating violence in Puerto Rico. After yet another brutal murder (this time committed by a fifteen year-old in a hold-up gone awry) Dora M. Gómez-Light called for a day for expressing indignation towards violence on the island and beyond. On Friday, June 29, 2012, concerned citizens will dress in white in a show of solidarity and a desire for peace.
The call states, “We must unite and beseech our parents, neighbors, friends and our government. Together, everyone can do something. Let’s paint Puerto Rico white for peace, harmony, and love. Puerto Rico wants peace.”

I think white clothes are used in Asia for funerals.
