The Association of Classical Dominican Composers its second concert series “A Celebration of Dominican Classical Composers and Musicians.” Darwin Aquino and Trio Dominicano on April 13, 2012, at 7:00pm there will be a composer showcase concert of classical Dominican composer, Darwin Aquino.
Traveling from the Dominican Republic, the chamber ensemble Trío Dominicano will play arrangements and original compositions by Mr. Aquino. The concert will take place at Shepard Hall, City College of New York, located on 140 Convent Avenue, New York. The concert is free and open to the public.
Trío Dominicano has been around for 25 years; it is currently under new leadership with the harpist Adán Vásquez. The group features different aspects of musical culture of the Dominican Republic and the Dominican diaspora. The musicians in the trio are Darwin Aquino (violin), María de Fátima Geraldes (piano), and Juan Pablo Polanco (violoncello).
