The Vassar Haiti Project announces its 11th Annual Haitian Art Auction and Sale. The exhibition and related activities will take place on March 30, 31, and April 1, 2012. The auction will be held on Saturday, March 31, with auction previewing on March 26-28. These events will be held at the College Center’s Multipurpose Room, Vassar College, 124 Raymond Avenue in Poughkeepsie, New York.
The exhibition includes over 400 original Haitian paintings, handcrafts, hand-painted silk scarves, iron sculpture, and more. The funds from this sale will benefit four initiatives in the mountain village of Chermaitre: education, reforestation, clean water access, and health care.
The Vassar Haiti Project, founded in 2001, is a collaborative volunteer effort supporting the welfare of artists in Haiti and the education and the nutrition of school children in the village of Chermaitre, Haiti.
