“We love the country of Jamaica, that is our home and keeping alive the spirit of reggae music is what we do” – Roger Lewis of Inner Circle. With that thought, Inner Circle is calling for a celebration of Jamaica’s 50 years of independence, as South Florida Caribbean News reports.
Inner Circle is helping usher in Jamaica’s 50th Anniversary of Jamaica’s Independence with a new collaboration album entitled The DUBets. The first single off of The DUBets, “Oh, Jamaica” is a heart felt ode to the Caribbean nation and features one of the islands best kept secrets, AJ Brown. The DUBets is a collaboration album that features some of reggae’s most influential artists including Jacob Miller, Ali Campbell of UB40, Gramps Morgan of Morgan Heritage, Kymani Marley, Prince Midus, and veteran reggae crooner Glen Washington.
Since 2009’s State of da World album, Inner Circle has been working at a whirlwind pace touring across the world as well as recording a compilation album entitled, The Reggae Wave, with South Florida’s brightest reggae talent. Uniting the world through music, The Reggae Wave project includes Jahfe, The Resolvers, Spred The Dub, Stampede Movement, Mixed Culture, Skafyah and Fourth Dimension. The Reggae Wave will be opening for Inner Circle and Third World at the Reggae Jam Concert on February 24th at the Adrienne Arsht Center in Miami, FL.
