The series “Afropop: The Ultimate Cultural Exchange” (Iowa Public Television) is featuring the exciting documentary film Calypso Rose: The Lioness of the Jungle—directed by Pascale Obolo—which follows the singer’s professional trajectory, her travels, viewpoints, and dynamic lifestyle.
The 56-minute documentary will be aired on IPTV World on February 12 (at 7:00am, 1:00pm, 8:00pm, and 11:00pm); February 14 (at 4:00am and 10:00am); and on February 15 (at 5:00am).
Description: Calypso Rose, the ambassador of Caribbean music, is a living legend, a charismatic character and the uncontested diva of calypso. Cameras follow Rose from Paris to her native Tobago, then to New York where she lives, and back to her ancestral homeland, Africa. Each place reveals another face and facet of the complex woman behind the public persona.
