The collective art exhibition “Senderos” [Trails], which opened on November 4, features young artists of Pinar del Río. Sponsored by the National Council of Visual Arts, the Center for the Development of the Visual Arts, Centro Provincial de Artes Plásticas, and the Hermanos Saíz Association, the exhibition will be on view until November 26, 2011, at the Cuba Pavilion in Vedado, Havana.
This exhibition aims to contribute to the diffusion of art produced in Cuba’s westernmost provinces. Pinar del Río has a wealth of visual artists, who defined by multiple expressions and thematic angles, contribute to making the region outstanding within the national aesthetic production.
The group exhibition features 32 artists. Although painting is the most notable medium, it also includes engraving, drawing, photography, graphics, and audiovisual proposals, in works that depict and provide commentary on concerns about society today as well as questions about our roles at various levels of praxis and intellectual activity.
