Stevy Mahy will be in concert on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at L’Artchipel in Guadeloupe. The singer of “Beautiful,” a total hit recently at the Atrium in Martinique and the Réservoir in Paris, has now returned to Guadeloupe to the acclaim of fans of her Kreyol folk tunes.
The concert will take place at the Anacaona Room, at 8:00pm. L’Artchipel: Scène Nationale de la Guadeloupe is located on the Boulevard du Générale Gouverneur in Basse-Terre, Guadeloupe.
Mahy will be surrounded by actors recognized for their performances in Guadeloupe and Martinique. At her side on the L’Artchipel stage you will find Brice Bapte, Lulien Belloir, Joël Jacoullet, Didier Juste, Stevie Landre, Willy Salcedo, and Daniella Gustave.
Stevy Mahy—who embarked on her performing career at an early age (recording with her mother when she was 9 years old)—sings in Creole, English, and French, bringing together a combination of pop, blues, and Creole folk rhythms. Her album The Beautiful Side of a Kreyol Folk Trip (2010) was very well received in Guadeloupe and beyond.
