Taller Puertorriqueño presents the 25th Annual Book and Crafts Fair on October 1st, 2011, preceded by a reception and fundraiser with scholar/writer Lawrence La Fountain-Stokes (University of Michigan) on September 30, 2011.
Lawrence La Fountain-Stokes is the author of Blue Fingernails/Uñas pintadas de azul, “a collection of fourteen superb short stories on cosmopolitan Puerto Rican gays and lesbians in a postmodern world” and Queer Ricans: Cultures and Sexualities in the Diaspora. A conversation with the author will take place on September 30, from 5:30 to 7:30pm at Isla Verde Restaurant, 2725 N. American Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The suggested donation for this fundraising activity is $25.00.
