Haiti’s president is creating an advisory board of former leaders, business executives and others that he hopes can make the poor Caribbean nation a more business friendly place and attract foreign investment, the Associated Press reports.
President Michel Martelly says the new panel will include former U.S. President Bill Clinton, who is the U.N. special envoy to Haiti. Martelly says the 32 board members have expertise in government, real estate, banking and philanthropy.
Clinton will be co-chairman along with Haitian telecommunications entrepreneur Laurent Lamothe.
