On May 28, 2011, from 3:00 until 9:00pm, Edgardo Texidor Rosa will be displaying his skills at Caficultura in Old San Juan (401 San Francisco Street), Puerto Rico. The artist/barista invites us to share his creative process in the preparation of coffee as a prelude to the World Barista Championship 2011, in which he will represent Puerto Rico in this international competition.

At Saturday’s event, called “Rumbo a Colombia (World Barista Championship 2011)” [On the Way to Colombia] there will be music live, wine tasting, a “Happy Hour,” and a raffle, where three winners will receive a certified barista course with Texidor himself. The proceeds will be used to cover his travel costs for this important event, which will be held in Bogotá, Colombia on June 2-5.

This is the first time that World Barista Championship will be taking place in a major coffee producing country. The competition will be hosted by the Colombian Coffee Federation and Specialty Coffee Association of Colombia and held within the 4th Annual Expoespeciales Trade Show at Corferías (Centro Internacional de Negocios y Exposiciones) in Bogotá.
