The documentary on West Indian cricket is getting a lot of notice since its premiere in London on Tuesday. Here is a brief review.

The West Indies bowling line-up of the 1970s and the 1980s was both revered and feared in equal measures. Little surprise then that the documentary based on the Caribbean team, starring the likes of Viv Richards and Ian Botham, has taken the world by storm, just a day after its premier in London on Tuesday.
Shattering most records on international movie review websites, Fire in Babylon talks of the legendary team and it’s heroes from the West Indies point of view. It is narrated by the players themselves.

The list of cricketers that make it in the documentary to talk of their experience playing for the side includes Michael Holding, Gordon Greenidge, Andy Roberts, Clive Lloyd and Malcolm Marshall amongst other West Indian and English cricketers.
The documentary is being hailed as much for its direction and the discussions as for the celebration of an era that saw Caribbean players becoming icons of the sport and their cultures. The players themselves have reportedly shown great oratory skills in the documentary.
The London premier was attended by a host of celebrities and cricketers including Holding, Paul Collingwood and Kevin Pietersen.
