Vybz Kartel and I-Octane Dominate EME Awards

This year’s EME Awards featured major wins by Vybz Kartel and I-Octane. Vybz Kartel received with four awards: Male Deejay of the Year, Dancehall Song of the Year for “Clarks,” Album of the Year for Pon di Gaza 2.0, and Collaboration of the Year for “Clarks” featuring Popcaan. Breakthrough sensation I-Octane received three awards: Reggae Song of the Year for his hit single “My Life,” Breakthrough Artiste of the Year, and Male Singjay of the Year.

There were several winners and great performances from an A list of reggae and international artists. Shaggy and Beenie Man were named Artistes of the Decade 2001-2010, and rappers Eve and Trina received the International Friend of Reggae Awards. Gyptian won as Best International Artist of the Year. Song of the Year—Dancehall: Clarks / Reggae: My Life— I-Octane

Album of the Year: Pon di Gaza 2.0— Vybz Kartel

Cultural Artiste of the Year: Tarrus Riley

Breakthrough Artiste of the Year: I-Octane

Singjay of the Year—Male: I-Octane

Collaboration of the Year: Clarks—Vybz Kartel, Popcaan and Gaza Slim

Riddim of the Year—Reggae: Pleasure— Cash Flow Records / Dancehall: One Day— Seanizzle Records

International Artiste of the Year: Gyptian

Best Theatrical Production: GhettOut

Video of the Year—Reggae: Unconditional Love—Jah Cure and Phyllisia

Video of the Year—Dancehall: For Ur Eyes Only—Shaggy and Alaine

Performance of the Year: Beenie Man and Bounty Killer—Arthur Guinness Celebration

Artiste of the Decade: Beenie Man, Shaggy
