America, based on the novel America’s Dream, by Esmeralda Santiago, will have an outdoor screening at the Conde de Mirasol Fort in Vieques, Puerto Rico, on Friday, March 11, 2011, at 7:00pm. The cast will be present; the screening will be free and open to the public.
America was shot in Vieques last year with Edward James Olmos, Lymari Nadal, Rachel Ticotin, and Frank Peroso. A woman, America, breaks away from an abusive husband after her teenage daughter runs off with her boyfriend. She tries to rebuild her life working as a nanny for a New York family. Directed by Sonia Fritz, the film premiered tonight in several theaters on the island.

I have not seen the movie yet but the trailer looks great. I just have to question what is that part where they talk about passports being from Puerto Rico?
