A four-year-old Haitian girl named Leah will be calling Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Mum and Dad soon according to reports. The A-list couple are said to be in the process of adopting the little girl who lost her entire family in last year’s devastating earthquake. (Not the child pictured in the file photo above.)
Britain’s Daily Mirror reports that Jolie fell in love with Leah when she visited the Caribbean nation in February last year. Since then, the actress has reportedly been in regular contact with government officials, charity workers and adoption agencies to sort out the red tape.
“Angelina’s lawyers are in the process of getting an authorisation so Leah can spend some time with her in America. That’s standard procedure, basically they need to make sure Leah will adapt well,” a source close to one of the charities involved told the Daily Mirror.
“A lot of observers from groups such as the Red Cross are ensuring that Angelina is treated like anybody else and not fast-tracked, which would be viewed invidiously.
“There is also a concern about the Haitian authorities not being able to deal with such international pressure. But for now, Angie is almost reaching the final steps of the gruelling adoption process.
“If Leah fits well within her family in the States, she will be able to adopt her.”
Jolie and Pitt are already parents to Maddox 10, Pax Thien, seven, Zahara, six, Shiloh, four, and two-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.

I can’t believe a heron addict is buying another child to ruin – its awful
I think it is a great idea, they have the resources to help lots of children, and since the little girl lost her famiy what else would be better. The culture of the child is already in the house. Do you really think the political process of adoption is out of the Jolie scrutiny. I myself have adopted children and it is a process of social workers and interviews you have to go through, so please dont believe everything you see about stars bad, believe there is good people out there just trying to help others. They as a couple help lots of people even here in the states, maybe youre just distracted at the fact you dont help others, Maybe take a look in the mirror.

Not quite sure how this can be construed as standard procedure. But I hope it all goes well for the child’s sake.
