France’s first lady spent a couple of days in Martinique and Guadeloupe, doing what politicians (or the wives’ of politicians) seem to do best . . . kissing babies . . . and the photos are front-page news around the world. Here’s one gushing report—this one from Hello.
It’s been a while since Carla Bruni’s ten-year-old son Aurelien was a boisterous toddler. But France’s glamorous first lady has clearly not lost her touch with little ones.
With kisses and cuddles, the 43-year-old charmed the youngsters at a child centre in Le Lamentin, on the French Caribbean Island of Guadeloupe.
They had been waiting with flowers to welcome the former model, who was effortlessly stylish in a pale grey trouser suit and gold hoop earrings.
Carla and her husband, President Nicolas Sarkozy, travelled to Martinique and Guadeloupe to deliver the New Year’s address to French overseas territories.
