Poland’s Wroclaw Salsa Festival 2011

The 4th edition of the Wroclaw Salsa Festival 2011 will take place in Wroclaw, Poland on February 17-20, 2011. The international dance team Universo Salsero and Fly Dance Academy are the hosts for this international salsa event. Among the features of the event, the dance team of Luis Vázquez and Melissa Fernández will dance together for the last time in Poland. Other confirmed artists are Wilmer & María, Osbanis & Anneta, and Jorge Camaguey, all from Cuba; Angelo Rito & Barbara Santangelo from Italy; Mitchell & Monica from Germany; and Mek Wereszynski from Poland. There will also be workshops and dance classes for all levels. Another highlight is the National Contest of Choreography. Here are excerpts from the Poland salsa congress site, with a link to more information below:

40 hours of classes for all levels and all styles of salsa, but also afro, rumba, son cubano, reggaeton, rueda de casino, latin jazz, pachanga and… for the first time we will introduce kizomba with some classes leaded by Pawel Dilewski from Poland. Off course you can’t miss also the bachata classes with Riccardo, who is not only organizing this event in Wroclaw, but the bachata festival “Universo Salsero Bachata Weekend” as well. Beginners can buy a special full pass that includes all parties and all classes for their level that will be always in the same room.

4 parties with shows like last year; but this time [they will be held] in a new location with more than 500 m2 of dance floor and with a second room for bachata, kizomba and reggaeton music (where the after party on Saturday night will take place). In the main room the music will be mostly salsa, from everywhere, for Cuban style and for line style salsa dancers…finally no division! [. . .] Special guest DJ Ezio from Italy (DJ of the Roma Salsa Festival) who made the goodbye party of last year something amazing and unreal, making dance together artists and participants, Cuban dancers and New York and L.A. style dancers [. . .]

The 2nd edition of the National Contest of Choreography will take place in 8 cities in Poland [. . .] and the final will be at the Friday party. First prize [is] a cup [award], full passes for the Roma Salsa Festival and 1200zl [Polish zloty].

  1. Thanx for a very informative site. What else could I get that kind of info written in such an ideal means? I have a project that I am just now running on, and I have been at the look out for such information.
