Caribbean Textures: “Caliban in Caribbean and Latin American Thought in the 21st Century”

The Center for Caribbean Studies at Casa de las Américas along with the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Havana invites the public to the fourth meeting of the academic program Caribbean Textures: Caliban Multiplied. This meeting will take place in the framework of the IV International Conference “The Caribbean of the XXIst Century,” organized by the Caribbean Studies Department of the University of Havana. It will consist of a panel and discussion entitled “Calibán en el pensamiento latinoamericano y caribeño del siglo XXI” [Caliban in Caribbean and Latin American Thought in the 21st Century], with specialists Aurelio Alonso, Roberto Zurbano, and Yolanda Wood. The discussion will center on the most recent re-visitations of the Latin American and Caribbean symbol, Caliban. The panel will take place on Tuesday, December 7, 2010, in Room 250 of the University of Havana (Havana, Cuba).
