New Book and Launch: Ana María Fuster Lavín’s “El eróscopo”

Isla Negra Publishers and Librería Mágica invite you to the presentation of a new poetry book by Puerto Rican writer Ana María Fuster Lavín, El eróscopo: daños colaterales de la poesía [Eroscope: Poetry’s Collateral Damage]. This new volume will be presented by Professors Emilio del Carril and María de Lourdes Javier. Performance, poetry reading, tarot interpretations, erotic and astral predictions will be performed by poets Ana María Fuster, Mairym Cruz Bernal, Eric Landrón, Amarilis Tavárez, and José Cáez, with a toast by Marioantonio Rosa. The launch will take place on Saturday, October 16, 2010, at 4:00pm at Librería Mágica in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico.

Writer and editor Ana María Fuster Lavín has been a columnist for local newspaper Claridad. She has also published articles in a variety of magazines and anthologies in Argentina, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, France, Italy, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Spain, Sweden, the United States, and Uruguay. Fuster has won several awards for essay, short story, and poetry. Her short stories and poems have been translated into English, French, Italian, and Portuguese. She was also co-editor, with Uberto Stabile, of the anthology antología (Per)versiones desde el paraíso: antología de poesía puertorriqueña de entresiglos (Rev. Aullido, España, 2005). Her other publications include Verdades caprichosas (First Book Pub., 2002), which won an Award from the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture; Réquiem (Isla Negra Publishers, 2005), PEN Club of Puerto Rico Award; El libro de las sombras (Isla Negra Publishers, 2006), Award from the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture; Leyendas de misterio (Alfaguara Editors, 2006), children’s literature; Bocetos de una ciudad silente (Isla Negra Publishers, 2007, 2nd ed. 2008); and El Cuerpo del Delito (Diosa Blanca Editors, 2009).
