The 15th Annual Bermuda Music Festival, which began Thursday, September 30 and ends on Saturday, October 2, 2010, featured Ziggy Marley last night. This year’s festival venue is the Fairmont Southampton on South Shore Road in Southampton, Bermuda. Performances start at 8:00pm.
Bermuda’s Royal Gazette reported that Ziggy Marley “blessed Bermuda with a great show . . . filled with positive vibes on the opening night. . . The eldest son of reggae legend Bob Marley sang hit after hit, drawing the audience in with his soothing voice and addictive reggae beats.” Marley performed hits such as “Love is My Religion,” “I Get Out,” and “Make Some Music.” According to the Gazette, “it was when he began to cover his father’s music that the crowd went wild.”
Local acts Uzimon and Homegrown opened the show. Other local artists such as McCartney K and Friends and the Chewstick Collective will also be performing during the festival.
Friday night features co-headliners Angie Stone and Estelle, and The Bermuda Music Festival will come to a close with Toni Braxton on Saturday night.
