Soufrière Hills, Montserrat – In July 1995 Soufrière Hills volcano in Montserrat erupted for the first time in history and it destroyed the capital town of Plymouth and entire souther half of the island. Once called the Emerald Isle of the Caribbean has turned into ash isle by the Soufrière Hills volcano. Volcanic ash continues to fall even today which as made most of the area off limits, however there are some safe zones opened for tourists to see the destruction caused by the volcano.
