“Expression Tropic’Art” is an association (from Les Abymes, Guadeloupe) that enables young people to play music together and, in doing so, to make a difference in the world. With the help of musician Fritz Marie-Emilie, devoted parents and artists, in addition to music, all the arts are grouped together in a collaborative project offering lectures, concerts, and now, 500 CD’s to collect funds for disaster relief in Haiti.
The new CD, called Ayiti 3D, attests to the young musicians’ commitment and talents. It is a concept that brings together three titles on the album—“Ayiti,” “Rèspé,” and “Pause.” As Info Antilles reports, “Three titles to illustrate three emerging dimensions: “chaos,” “dignity,” and “hope.” This project is supported by other groups, such as the Rotary Club and the Jasor Bookstore. Although the CD is already available, it will be showcased at Relai du Livre at Rue de la chapelle in Chazeau (97139 Les Abymes), Guadeloupe, on August 6, 2010, starting at 8:30am.
