The Puerto Rico Museum of Art [Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico] in Santurce, Puerto Rico, will be holding the 5th International Short Film Festival–Cinefiesta, August 23-26, 2010.
There will be lectures with guest directors, scriptwriters, and close to 350 short films screened during the festival. Sessions will be held at the museum as well as commercial theaters of the Caribbean Cinema chain. There will also be after-parties taking place at Alquimia, a club owned by well known singer Gilberto Santarosa.
There are films from Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Canada, China, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Iran, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Macedonia, Mexico, Poland, Rumania, Russia, Spain, South Korea, Sweden, Turkey, United Kingdom, and the United States, among others. Some of the participating films from Puerto Rico are Luz (Álvaro Aponte), Nos queda el aire (Julio César Morales Vélez), Anónimos (Luis Daniel Lugardo), Regreso a La Floresta (Ariel Annexy), Coffee Break (Vance McLean Ball), Volver a sentir (Raisa Bonnet), El Extra (Andrés Ramírez), 204 (Rafi Mercado), Ráfaga (Michelle Malley Cam), and Cositas que se olvidan (David Norris). Besides Puerto Rico, there seems to be only one film from the Caribbean: Terra Incognita (Rodrigo Alves de Melo), from Cuba (see image above).
