Our research assistant, Jennifer Byron, has just graduated from Marist College with a degree in Spanish and adolescent education with a minor in French language studies. Because of her outstanding work, she was awarded the Raymond Weiss Award for Excellence in Spanish.
Originally from Sandwich (Cape Cod), Massachusetts, Jenn has also studied in Spain and Argentina. She will now begin her graduate studies in Spanish and cultural studies at Arizona State University, where she will also pursue her interest in Latin American women’s leadership in politics and education.
Although Jennifer was only with us for one semester—since January 2010—her zeal and terrific linguistic abilities in English, French, and Spanish really made a difference in helping us maintain the diverse foundation of Repeating Islands. We deeply appreciate her dedication, research skills, and great enthusiasm for the blog.
Please join us in wishing her the best of luck.
